I know you've seen an artificial plant before but...

One of the greatest things that could happen for consumers in the energy industry would be cheap easy energy. Wouldn't it also be nice to make that energy from sunlight and water like plants do?

Well now you can! MIT's Nocera research lab has created a cheap and very efficient "Artificial Leaf". What these leaves do is basically recreate the plant's photosynthesis process and turn it into usable electricity!

They can power a entire house and still last for about 45 hours!

Now you see me.. Now you don't.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could just throw on a cloak and be invisible? Or if you had a button on your wrist watch that made you invisible from everyone else. Just think of all the stuff that could be done with that kind of power. Both good and bad things I suppose, not to be naive.

Well what was once thought to be impossible may be becoming very possible. Dr. Semouchkina of Michigan Tech University has found a way to possibly do it.

She and her research team are using a magnetic resonance to bend the light around objects to make them completely invisible to the human eye. Your eye would not be able to detect the object because the magnetic field would accelerate the light as it travels around the object. How awesome is that?

This is possible because of the development of new materials that are able to have multiple resonances these are known as "metamaterials"

Here is the full article. along with a picture of Dr. Semouchkina.

So if you ever find yourself in the future getting spied on to later be assassinated or just playing the best game of hide-n-seek of your entire life. Make sure you remember to thank Elena Semouchkina and her associates.

A break from the science.

I just got done watching Tangled, it was a pretty good movie.

Well anyway, I thought that I needed a little break from all the science stuff I've been posting (actually I just ran out of ideas on what to post for now :P)

So I decided to post some random stuff.

For example, are you aware that the college student debt in the US now tops the credit card debt?
This combined with unemployment being about 9% in the US is not a good thing.
Economists at top universities say that you could possibly make more money in the long run at a skilled labor job rather than pursuing a 4-year degree.

Personally I'd rather take the risk and at least get a 4-year degree, I wouldn't enjoy a normal job.

Let me know your opinions on this! I'm interested in hearing them.

Quantum Computing? What's that?

From what I understand quantum computing is just like regular computing but instead of normal bits.

But enough of me pretending like I know what I'm talking about. The idea has been around since the 1980's but as of recently people have made huge progress in the subject.

This could potentially change the way computers are run in the future, interesting stuff.

Heres some info on the subject:

Magic, Miracles? Nope.. Just Science.

My Physics professor had us watch this a while back. Before seeing this I kinda understood what a super conductor was but I didn't realize they were this amazing.

Just imagine a world when we can create compounds that don't have to be -25935435 C to become a superconductor. So much would be possible for innovations in transportation along with many other things.

It just amazes me how it is able to levitate without touching anything. Check it out.

Everything and Nothing

This video I watched the other night. (Yeah I know its been around for quite a while)
But I found it quite interesting he says the universe is composed mostly of Dark Matter and Dark Energy.

He also explains about how the universe could have started from nothing. Pretty interesting stuff.

Let me know what you think about it!

Hello;

Hello everyone this is my first time getting involved in internet blogging and I would like to take this time to explain how i feel about it.

I kinda like how my ideas can be expressed on the internet
I kinda like how everyone in the world can see what I have to say.
I also like how easy it is to use!

Thanks everyone for reading. I will post more when I figure more out!
